SEPTEMBER EDUCATION UPDATE By Lynn Barbeau
High Seas Adventure was a swashbuckling success! We had 197 children under 18 from 20 churches and 47 adults helping! (This is only 3 under last year and we didn’t have 3 year olds this year!) I’m sorry that not everyone could attend, but we had 33 children and 15 adults from PUMC learning about Paul and his adventures and about Jesus’ love for us through stories, song, crafts, snacks, games and other activities. Everyone has returned from camp and had a wonderful time from the reports that I got. Some even told me that they were sorry they couldn’t have stayed all summer! Sunday School will be starting with a party this year – or actually a Rally Day Carnival and Church-wide picnic! Be sure that you are here on September 12 th to join in all the fun! There will be one service outside at 9 a.m. that day and then the teachers and students will be sent forth to their classes for the first day of Sunday School. Immediately afterwards the carnival and picnic will start with games, prizes, food entertainment and surprises! If you have e-mail we will be sending the enrollment forms for Sunday School to you. If you don’t have email, would like to enroll a child or have a 3 year old please come in and fill out your forms in the office! We could still use some help that day so be sure and let us know if you could help with a shift. Remember your lawn chairs or blankets to sit on! “Women at the Well” is October 9 th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We have a lot of interesting presenters and our keynote speakers are a missionary couple from Africa who are here for a short leave. He is a pilot and mechanic that flies all over Africa. We also will be having a prayer labyrinth and other presenters. Come for delicious food, and a day that will refresh all teen and adult women mentally, spiritually and physically. (You are welcome to bring guests!) LOGOS is starting on September 1 st with a parent and volunteer meeting and the first LOGOS will meet on September 8 th . Our little ASK Prayer Group meets every Tuesday Morning at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. is a Bible Study on the Psalms. Anyone is welcome to join!
